The driver who can also coach.

Riding since age 8, coaching for years. Add instruction to any captained session for +$50/hr — first pulls for the kids, ropeless progress for you, and a wake that's shaped around the rider.

First-timers & kids

Swim-platform starts, the right rope, the right speed, zero yelling. Most kids are up within a session or two.

Getting-better days

Edge control, wake crossings, dropping the rope. Focused reps with feedback between sets instead of guesswork.

Why driver-coach matters

Half of learning is the pull. When the coach is at the wheel, every attempt is set up to succeed — speed, shape, and line all matched to the rider.

Priced like an add-on, because it is one

Standalone lessons in Seattle cost $275–340/hr because you're renting the school's boat. On your boat, coaching is +$50/hr on top of the captain rate. A 6-hour family day with coaching runs about $1,014 on a weekday — less than three hours at a lesson operator, on your own boat, with everyone riding.

Coaching is available on your boat, your rental, or a full charter.

Coaching questions

How much do wakesurf lessons cost in Seattle?

Lesson operators with their own boats charge $275–340 per hour in the Seattle area. Sound Captain Co. coaching works differently: it's a $50/hour add-on to any captained session on your boat — because you shouldn't pay boat-rental prices when the boat is already yours.

Can kids learn to wakeboard in one session?

Most kids get up on a wakeboard within a session or two with correct rope, speed, and coaching — and the driver matters as much as the coach. Since ours is both, the pull is matched to the learner, run after run.

Do you coach beginners who are nervous about deep water?

Constantly — it's the specialty. PFDs, a patient progression that starts at the swim platform, and a coach who has taught first-timers for years. Falling is part of it; fear doesn't have to be.

What levels do you coach?

First pull through intermediate progression: getting up, edging, crossing the wake, surfing ropeless, first spins. 20+ years of riding and years of coaching experience behind every session.
